Focusing on the lives that were lived in each of its museums and houses, Sydney Living Museums offers insights into the personal stories of how people lived, worked and played. Historic Houses Trust of NSW, incorporating Sydney Living Museums, cares for significant historic places, buildings, landscapes and collections. It is a statutory authority of, and principally funded by, the New South Wales State Government.
From first light of day, chefs Sebastien Lutaud and Joey Ingram are immersed in the food and flavours of France at Bistro Mint, their public dining room on the first floor of the historic Mint building. Modern French fare, for breakfast and lunch, is served at cosy indoor tables or on the verandah where one can watch Sydney’s silks swing down Macquarie Street. Bistro Mint is also the creative hub and flagship restaurant for Australia’s fine-dining venue and corporate caterer Restaurant Associates, whose clients include Sydney’s most iconic and culturally significant venues such as Town Hall, Australian Musuem, and Sydney CBD’s oldest public building – The Mint. Restaurant Associates is a global company whose talent pool of chefs are leading catering teams from New York’s Guggenheim Museum to London’s City Social in Tower 42. Lutaud and Ingram design all the menus for events held at The Mint, and for Food & Words 2014 they came up with the delicious morning and afternoon teas and collaborated on the picnic lunch with Mike McEnearney of Kitchen By Mike.

Julie Paterson is a painter, printmaker and designer of textiles. She owns a small fabric company called Cloth that she set up 19 years ago because it made sense at the time and still does. She works with a small team of people who love what they do, making textiles by hand the old-fashioned way.
She’s an outdoors type, spending half her week living by the ocean and the rest up in the mountains. Wherever she goes she paints and draws the things she sees around her with materials that she has found along the way.
She prefers cycling to work and she loves being cooked for.
